Grid-tied solar systems
Turn your roof into your own source of energy. A grid-tied system works without batteries and is intended mainly for long-term savings.
LA Solar designs and installs solar systems matched to your household consumption, roof characteristics and future energy needs. We run the whole process, from capacity calculation and design to installation, commissioning and ongoing service.
How a grid-tied system works
The solar panels generate electricity, which is used first for the current consumption of the home or business.
Surplus energy is exported to the grid, and when solar production is insufficient the required energy is drawn from the grid again.
The system is sized on your annual consumption so that high summer production offsets lower winter production. The current offset scheme lets you reduce your annual electricity cost. A grid-tied system is most cost-effective under the current Net Metering scheme.
During a grid outage a grid-tied system shuts down automatically for safety. For backup power you need a hybrid system with a battery.
When to choose a grid-tied system
A grid-tied system is the right choice if:
Every solution is designed individually
We take into account:
- 01
annual household electricity consumption
- 02
available roof area
- 03
roof type, pitch and orientation
- 04
installation address and solar conditions
- 05
additional consumption planned for the future
This approach means you get a system with justified capacity for your home, not simply the largest one.
