Common issues
Quick fixes for the most common solar system issues.
01 No data in the monitoring app
Missing data in the app is usually caused by the inverter losing its Wi-Fi connection, no internet, or a temporary server issue, not by the system itself. Check whether the inverter is running and shows no error. If the system is working, our engineers can restore the monitoring connection remotely.
02 Inverter shows an error
Send us the error code shown on the inverter screen or in the app and, if possible, a photo. Our engineers will check the cause and advise the next steps. The issue may relate to the equipment or to external grid voltage.
03 System is not producing power
Check that the breakers are on and there is no red light on the inverter. Do not repeatedly switch the breaker back on without finding the cause. Contact our service department to have the system checked.
04 Production is lower than usual
A drop can be caused by weather, season, dirty panels, shading, grid voltage issues or inverter limitation. Our engineers compare current production with previous periods and, if needed, check the system remotely or on site.
05 System did not restart after an outage
After power returns, a grid-tied inverter waits a few minutes for the grid to stabilise and then restarts on its own. If it has not restarted after 15 minutes, check the breakers and send us the error code.
06 Equipment has visible damage
Do not touch the damaged part and do not try to repair it yourself. If possible, safely switch off the system and contact our service department immediately with a photo or video.
07 My system is producing less. What could be the cause?
Lower output can be caused by weather, seasonal change, dirty panels, shading, grid voltage issues, inverter limitation or a technical fault. What to do: first, current production is compared with previous periods and weather conditions. If necessary our engineers check the system remotely or on site. If the cause is high or low external grid voltage, it is not a fault of the solar system or LA Solar equipment and falls under the grid operator's responsibility.
08 The breaker of the solar system trips. What should I do?
A breaker trip can relate to overload, short circuit, voltage fluctuations, or a problem with the breaker or another system component. What to do: do not repeatedly switch the breaker back on without finding the cause. Contact our service department to have the system checked. If the cause is an external grid voltage or supply problem, it falls under the grid operator's responsibility.
09 The system switches off at certain hours of the day. Why?
If the system regularly shuts down at the same hours, one of the most common causes is high grid voltage. Especially during peak solar hours, grid voltage in some areas can exceed permitted limits, so the inverter temporarily shuts down for safety. What to do: our engineers can check the inverter data and confirm the cause. If it is high grid voltage, it is a grid issue outside LA Solar's responsibility and should be raised with the grid operator. We can provide the technical data or help confirm the cause.
10 The inverter's production figure does not match the meter. Why?
Inverter production and meter readings are not necessarily the same. The inverter shows the total production of the solar system, while the meter may show energy drawn from or exported to the grid. Part of the produced energy is consumed directly by the home or business and does not appear on the meter as exported energy. What to do: our engineers can check production and consumption data and explain the difference.
11 The roof started leaking after the installation. What should I do?
If the leak appeared directly in the installation area and relates to our work, it is subject to inspection and repair by us under the warranty terms. What to do: contact the service department and, if possible, send a photo or video of the area. If the leak turns out to be caused by pre-existing roof damage, wear, or another problem unrelated to the installation, it is not LA Solar's responsibility.
12 I changed my phone or internet. How do I reconnect monitoring?
After changing your phone or Wi-Fi network you may need to reconfigure the inverter's internet connection or log in to the monitoring app again. What to do: our service engineers can provide the connection steps or help remotely if needed.
13 The app shows 0 production but the system is working. What is wrong?
A zero in the app does not necessarily mean the system is not producing. The cause may be a lost Wi-Fi connection, no internet, a temporary data transfer issue or an app/server problem. What to do: first check whether the inverter is running and shows an error. If the system works but data is missing in the app, our engineers can restore the monitoring connection.
14 There is a voltage problem. Whom should I contact?
If it concerns high, low or frequently fluctuating grid voltage at the home or site, the issue is mainly related to the external grid. LA Solar is not responsible for the quality of external grid voltage. Nevertheless, our engineers can use inverter data to check whether shutdowns or limitations are caused by grid voltage. If a grid issue is confirmed, contact the grid operator.
15 Wires or a connection burned. What should I do?
This is a safety issue. What to do: do not touch the damaged area and do not try to repair it. If possible, safely switch off the system and contact our service department immediately. The cause may be a poor contact, damaged connection, overload, external interference or another technical issue. If it relates to our installation or a supplied component and falls under the warranty terms, we will fix it. If the damage resulted from third-party interference, external damage or later modifications, it may not be considered a warranty case.
16 The system shut down and a red light is on the inverter. What should I do?
A red light usually means the inverter detected a fault or entered protection mode. What to do: send us the error code from the inverter screen or app and, if possible, a photo. Our engineers will check the cause and advise next steps. The issue may relate to the equipment or to external grid voltage or supply. If the cause is the external grid, it is not LA Solar's responsibility.
17 The inverter disconnected from Wi-Fi. Does the system keep working?
Yes. In most cases losing Wi-Fi does not stop the solar system. Wi-Fi is used mainly for sending data to the app and remote monitoring. What to do: reconfigure the inverter's Wi-Fi; our service engineers can help.
18 Output has decreased over time. Why?
A decrease can relate to seasonal difference, weather, dirty panels, new shading, grid limitations or a technical issue. Also note that solar panels have a natural annual degradation defined in the manufacturer's technical and warranty terms. What to do: our engineers can compare historical data and determine whether the decrease is natural or there is a technical issue.
19 Cables burned or melted. What should I do?
Burned or melted cable is not normal and requires immediate technical inspection. What to do: do not touch damaged cables and do not try to repair the system yourself. Contact our service department immediately. Our engineers will check cables, connections, connectors and protective devices to find the cause. If it relates to our work or supplied equipment and meets the warranty terms, we will fix it.
Important: If the problem persists, send a service request. Do not open or repair electrical equipment yourself.
